Meet the Team

At the JRC, our surgeons are fellowship-trained experts in hip and knee arthroplasty with a shared commitment to personalised, evidence-based care. With hundreds of robotic-assisted procedures completed and active roles in surgical education and innovation, Dr Chivers and Dr Singh bring deep expertise and a patient-first approach to every case.

Dr D. Chivers

Dr Chivers is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a focus on hip and knee replacement surgery. He completed his advanced training at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town and is a recognised leader in robotic-assisted arthroplasty using the CORI Surgical System.

With extensive experience in complex and revision joint replacements, Dr Chivers also serves as a consultant and surgical trainer for Smith+Nephew. He is actively involved in product development and regularly presents at both local and international congresses.

Through a personalised, evidence-based approach, he is committed to helping patients regain movement and long-term joint function.

Dr V. Singh

Dr Singh is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in hip and knee arthroplasty. He completed his specialist training at Wits University and a dedicated fellowship in joint replacement surgery, later working at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital’s Arthroplasty Unit.

He has published in both local and international journals, including The Lancet, and remains active in surgical education and mentorship as a consultant for Smith+Nephew.

A skilled user of the CORI Robotic System, Dr Singh focuses on complex cases and failed joint replacements, combining technology and individualised care to help patients regain mobility and quality of life.
